About Lucinda

Trauma-Informed Certified Peer Support Specialist

I believe in resilient people. I believe in honest conversations. And I believe that sometimes the strongest people are the ones carrying the heaviest burdens. My work exists for them—for the helpers, protectors, responders, and quiet survivors who don’t have a safe place to decompress without judgment.

For over 20 years, I worked in the world of emergency communications—serving as a 911 call taker, dispatcher, trainer, and later, supervisor. I’ve been alongside people during the worst moments of their lives, and I’ve worked beside professionals who quietly carry the emotional impact of those moments long after the shift ends.

That experience taught me two things: people need a safe place to process hard things, and most “support systems” fail the people who need them most. Helpers are often expected to be fine. To file the critical call, traumatic case, or human heartbreak and just move on. But it doesn’t always work that way.

Peer support changed my life—and I’ve seen it change countless others. It creates something rare: a space where you don’t have to explain yourself. A space where you can be real without being judged or clinically labeled. A space where healing doesn’t require perfection.

Professional Background

I am a Certified Peer Counselor (WA) with additional training in trauma-informed support, crisis response, and resilience-based recovery. My work combines lived experience with professional structure, ethics, and emotional safety practices.

• Certified Peer Counselor (Washington State)

• NPI Registered Peer Provider

• Professional liability insured

• 20+ years experience in high-stress systems

• Trauma-informed + resilience-focused practice

I don’t just understand the work—I've lived it.

My Approach

My work is built on honesty, connection, and forward movement. Peer support works because it allows people to speak freely—to unload the weight they carry without judgment, labels, or performance.

Human First

You’re not a diagnosis. You’re a human who’s been carrying a lot.

Practical Support

Real tools that actually fit high-impact lives—no fluff.

No toxic positivity. No therapy speak. Just real support.

Safe Connection

Confidential, grounded, and never forced. We go at your pace.

Why I Do This Work

Because people who carry the weight of the world deserve a place to set it down. Because we lose too many good people to silence, burnout, and the belief that asking for help makes you weak. It doesn’t. We are not meant to do this alone—and healing doesn’t happen in isolation.

I I remind people they are not alone.
